Terms and Conditions for De Beauvoir Town Carpet Cleaners
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which De Beauvoir Town Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial carpet cleaning services. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before confirming any appointment. These terms are designed to be clear, fair, and practical, and they apply to all carpet cleaning services supplied by us, whether booked online, by telephone, or through any other agreed method. References to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean De Beauvoir Town Carpet Cleaners; references to “you” and “your” mean the customer receiving the service.
Our services may include carpet stain removal, deep carpet cleaning, fibre treatment, odour reduction, and other related cleaning work agreed at the time of booking. These terms should be read together with any written quotation, service summary, or booking confirmation issued to you. If there is any inconsistency, the written quotation or booking confirmation will take priority for the specific service booked, unless stated otherwise in these terms.
We aim to deliver a reliable carpet cleaning service with reasonable care and skill. However, all cleaning results depend on a range of factors, including fabric type, age, previous cleaning history, level of soiling, and any pre-existing damage. No promise is made that every mark, stain, or odour can be removed completely. By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge that cleaning outcomes can vary between carpets and environments.
Booking Process
To make a booking, you must provide accurate and complete information about the property, access arrangements, the areas to be cleaned, and any relevant issues that may affect service delivery. This includes, where applicable, details of pet stains, heavy traffic wear, delicate fibres, water sensitivity, or any prior treatments that may affect the cleaning process. De Beauvoir Town Carpet Cleaners reserves the right to decline or reschedule a booking if essential information is withheld or if the site conditions are unsuitable for safe and effective work.
A booking is only confirmed once we have accepted your request and issued confirmation. Any quotation given before confirmation is an estimate based on the information available at the time. The final price may change if the actual condition of the carpets, the size of the area, access requirements, or the nature of the cleaning work differs from what was originally described. If a price change is needed, we will explain the reason before continuing with the service wherever reasonably possible.
You must ensure that an authorised person is available at the property at the agreed time, unless we have expressly agreed unattended access in writing. You are responsible for ensuring that the work area is ready for cleaning, including removing fragile items, small personal belongings, and any valuables from the immediate area. We may refuse to move heavy furniture, electrical items, or objects that could be unsafe to handle. If access is delayed, restricted, or unavailable, additional charges may apply or the appointment may be treated as cancelled by you.
Payments and Charges
All charges will be set out in the quotation, booking confirmation, or revised estimate communicated before the service begins. Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due on completion of the service on the same day. We may accept payment by bank transfer, card, cash, or another method agreed in advance. If payment is made by card or bank transfer, you must ensure that sufficient funds are available and that the payment method used is authorised for the transaction.
Any deposit requested at the time of booking forms part of the total service price and may be non-refundable except where these terms say otherwise. Deposits may be required to secure appointments, particularly where specialist equipment, large areas, or restricted time slots are involved. If a deposit has been paid, the remaining balance will become due after the service has been completed unless we have agreed a different arrangement in writing.
Where additional work is requested on the day, or where unforeseen conditions mean more time, labour, or materials are needed, any extra charge will be explained before the work continues where reasonably practicable. De Beauvoir Town Carpet Cleaners will not be obliged to carry out extra work that has not been agreed, and we may stop work if the revised conditions make the original quotation inaccurate or the service impractical on the terms originally agreed.
Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Non-Attendance
You may cancel or reschedule a booking, but you must give reasonable notice. Unless a different cancellation policy was included in your booking confirmation, cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time may be charged in full or may forfeit any deposit paid. This is because we reserve time, staff, and equipment for your appointment and may incur costs that cannot be recovered at short notice.
If we need to cancel or reschedule due to circumstances outside our control, such as severe weather, illness, transport disruption, equipment failure, or safety concerns, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and offer an alternative date or time. We shall not be liable for any losses caused by such changes except where required by law. Where possible, we will make reasonable efforts to minimise disruption to your plans.
If we attend the property and cannot access the premises, cannot reach the person responsible, or are prevented from carrying out the work for reasons within your control, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation or failed visit and a charge may apply. If the service cannot proceed because the area has not been made safe or ready for cleaning, including where large items obstruct access or where the carpet is excessively wet from another source, we may charge a call-out or waiting fee.
Service Standards, Customer Obligations, and Site Conditions
We will use reasonable care and skill when providing all carpet cleaning services. You agree to provide a suitable environment for the work, including reasonable access to water, electricity, and ventilation where needed. You must tell us about any special conditions that may affect the service, such as fragile flooring, loose carpet edges, underfloor heating, recent repairs, or any cleaning restrictions recommended by the carpet manufacturer or installer.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the carpets are fit to be cleaned and that any manufacturer instructions, warranty conditions, or maintenance restrictions are disclosed before the appointment. We will not be responsible for failure to follow manufacturer or care instructions if you did not inform us of them in advance. You must also notify us of any known hazards, including exposed nails, faulty sockets, damp patches, or hidden damage, that could affect our personnel or equipment.
Where furniture must be moved to clean the carpet, our team may do so only where it is reasonably safe and practical. We may decline to move items that are extremely heavy, unstable, valuable, or likely to cause damage. If you ask us to move items, you do so at your own risk unless the damage is caused by our negligence. We may use protective measures where appropriate, but these do not guarantee against all possible marks, scuffs, or movement-related damage.
Liability and Limitations
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law. Subject to that, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or loss arising from delayed reoccupation of a room or property after cleaning.
We are not liable for pre-existing damage, hidden defects, weak carpet fibres, colour instability, dye bleed, shrinkage caused by the condition of the carpet, or any deterioration that occurs because the item was already worn, poorly maintained, or unsuitable for wet cleaning. While we use reasonable professional care, some carpets may respond unpredictably due to age, previous treatment, material composition, or prior contamination. Cleaning may also reveal defects that were not visible before the work began.
Any claim relating to damage allegedly caused during the service must be reported as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within a reasonable time after the issue is discovered. You must allow us a fair opportunity to inspect the concern and, if appropriate, to attempt a remedy. If a valid claim is accepted, our liability will be limited to the reasonable cost of repair or re-cleaning, or to the amount paid for the affected service, whichever is lower, subject always to applicable law.
Waste Regulations, Environmental Responsibility, and Materials Removed
We will handle wastewater, extracted debris, used cloths, and any disposable materials in a manner intended to comply with applicable waste and environmental regulations in the UK. Where required, waste produced during the service will be collected, contained, and disposed of appropriately. You acknowledge that some cleaning processes generate dirty water and waste residue that must not be discharged or handled in a way that could breach local drainage rules, environmental requirements, or safety obligations.
Unless otherwise agreed, any items removed from the carpets during cleaning, such as loose debris, fibres, or minor waste, may be disposed of by us where lawful and appropriate. However, we do not take responsibility for removing household rubbish, bulky waste, hazardous waste, or items that are not directly connected to the cleaning work. If you ask us to remove such items, this must be agreed in advance and may incur an additional charge if lawful and operationally feasible.
Where chemicals, stain treatments, or specialist solutions are used, we will aim to apply them responsibly and according to the manufacturer’s guidance. You must tell us about any allergies, sensitivities, pets, or special restrictions that may affect product selection or usage. We cannot be responsible for effects arising from undisclosed sensitivities or from improper use of the treated area after the work has been completed.
Intellectual Property, Use of Service Materials, and General Provisions
Any written materials, quotations, process notes, or service descriptions created by De Beauvoir Town Carpet Cleaners remain our property unless transferred by agreement. You may use the information provided to you only for the purpose of receiving and managing the booked service. You must not copy, resell, publish, or misuse our service materials in a way that suggests an endorsement, partnership, or formal approval that has not been granted.
If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. A failure by us to enforce any right under these terms shall not be treated as a waiver of that right. Any waiver must be made in writing and will apply only to the specific situation stated.
These terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our business, legal obligations, or operating practices. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that service unless a later written agreement states otherwise. It is your responsibility to review any updated terms before making a new booking for carpet cleaning in De Beauvoir Town or any related service.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
The contract between you and us is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or connected with these terms, the booking process, payment, cancellation, liability, or the provision of carpet cleaning services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
These terms are intended to be consistent with applicable UK consumer protection rules and other relevant legislation. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If you have a concern about any part of the service or these conditions, the parties should first try to resolve the matter in a fair and reasonable manner before pursuing formal action. Our aim is to provide a transparent carpet cleaners service that is professionally delivered and legally compliant.
By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions for De Beauvoir Town Carpet Cleaners. These terms form the basis of the service relationship between us and are designed to protect both parties while allowing the work to be carried out efficiently, safely, and to a professional standard.
